Potential clients want some idea of what our services will cost. Our fees are based on hourly rates which vary from as little as £15 per hour up to £60 per hour depending on the work being undertaken. Few accountants will quote a fixed menu of prices because every job is different depending upon the size of business, the reliability of the books and records and the requirements of the client. However, we will happily quote a fee in advance once we know more about your business.

Modern offices and technology

We operate from modern offices with up to date computer systems using industry leading accounting and taxation software and the full Microsoft Office suite with top quality printers to present a very high standard of output.

Accounting and Bookkeeping

Since we are accountants you will expect us to do this wouldn't you. We perepare accounts for any size of business from sole traders working entirely on their own, to larger sole traders with many employees, to partnerships and limited companies. Our largest clients have a turnover range of around £3m and we deal with businesses in a huge variety of trades, professions and vocations, including the care industry, hotel and catering, the licensed trade, manufacuring, building and construction, computing, retail, transport and many others.

Audit

The dull bit! Companies with a turnover of more than £1,000,000 must have an audit and we are registered to carry out this complience work. Telling you how good we are at auditing is not going to inspire you so we shall not bother. Let's get onto the next bit.

Taxation

Graham James passed the final examinations of the Institute of Taxation in 1985 and was placed first overall nationally for which he was awarded the Butterworth's prize. Until 1992 he lectured and wrote extensively in taxation subjects but then the pressures of being a sole trader in general practice work required him to devote all his time to his clients' affairs. Nonetheless this has left a legacy of spcialism in taxation fields enabling us to provide good planning advice in all taxes - personal or buisness - capital or revenue - direct or indirect - as well as excellent compliance facilities supported by extensive computer technology.

Computer Set up and Support

We can supply hardware and software at competitive prices through a relationship that we have with a computer service company in Andover. We specialise in Sage accounting software and provide training and support. We have experience of other software packages but we strongly recomment Sage for small and medium sized accounting installations. It is easy to use, intuitive and flexible and compatible with our own computer applications. We have also assisted clients with general office applications mostly using the Microsoft Office suite or, for small business clients, Microsoft Works. Projects have ranged from simple Mail Merge operations to more complex spreadsheet development work.

Business plans and cash flows

A challenging part of our work is develolping business plans for clients. This essential but often overlooked exercise requires careful thought and considerable time and effort. We bring an experience of many years and many different type of businesses to the project and have been successful in producing very high quality business plans which have deeply impressed lenders, customers and principles alike. Recently a business plan that we prepared for a flying school was regarded by the British Airports Authority as a model of excellence and helped our clients to secure one of only two sites available at an International Airport.

Other Services

We are registered to provide investment advice with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. However, we do not regard this as a mainstream part of our work and most investment advice is given by an Independent Financial Adviser with whom we have worked closely and successfully for 12 years and who has an exemplary record in providing unbiased, sound investment advice on all types of investment.
We carry out company formations and searches for clients, offer payroll services on a bureau basis and provide day to day bookkeeping services at competitive rates.
